Film hakkında

Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) her gece Mars hakkında rüyalar gören bir işçidir. Meraklanan Quaid, anı transferi yoluyla insanları tatile yollayan Rekall Inc. isimli şirketten Mars tatili satın alır. Fakat anı transferi sırasında meydana gelen bir kaza genç adamın zihnini altüst eder. Kendini bir gizli ajan olarak, Mars`ın zalim hakimi Coogan`a karşı mücadele ederken bulur. Eski dostlar, hatta karısı bile aniden ona düşman olmuştur. Fakat Quaid`in tüm bu yaşadıkları gerçek midir? Eski anılarını mı hatırlamaktadır? Yoksa anı transferi sırasında yaşadıkları yüzünden bir hayal mi görmektedir? Douglas Quaid bu gerçekler ve hayallerden örülü dünyada bir çıkış yolu bulmaya çalışır * Film, bilim kurgunun en önemli isimlerinden Philip K. Dick’in We Can Remember It For You Wholesale isimli kısa hikayesine dayanıyor.
