Corneliu Porumboiu`nun yönettiği La Gomera, mafya ile işbirliğinde olan bir iş insanını hapisten kaçırmak için kurgulanan çetrefilli plan gereği Kanarya Adaları`na has bir ıslık dilini öğrenmek zorunda kalan polis memuru Cristi`nin hikâyesini anlatıyor. Bükreş’te bir polis müfettişi olan, ama kanunun her iki tarafında çalışan Cristi için hiçbir şey göründüğü gibi değildir. Büyük bir soygundan hem kendi payını almak hem de soruşturmayı istediği gibi yönlendirebilmek için Kanarya’daki La Gomera adasına gelir. Tehlike ve büyük risk taşıyan bu oyunda ona Gilda yardımcı olur. Ancak hiç kimsenin birbirine güvenmediği bu ortamda iletişim, ıslık diliyle sağlanacaktır.
